My work experience prior to coming to the Unified Government Public Health Department (UGPHD) was working as a nurse Manager in Community Group homes for developmentally disabled adults for 9 years. This experience encouraged me to want to begin work upstream to minimize or prevent such disabilities, if possible, which brought me to Public Health at the Unified Government as a Health Manager for the Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant and Title X Family Planning grant which I continued for 18 years. I was then promoted to the position of Deputy Director at the UGPHD in July 2015 and continue in that position to date.
