Martha Moreno

She/ her

Born and raised in Mammoth, Arizona, Martha Moreno moved to the Wyandotte area in 2006 and has been here ever since. Martha has a deep sense of compassion for others, and this combined with her being bilingual, contributes to Martha's success as a CHW and her roots in helping people. As a child, Martha would translate papers and other important documents for her parents, which is something that Martha now does on a regular basis as a community health worker. Martha was introduced to CHC by a friend, and upon learning about the work we do, was inspired to take a course to become a Community Health Worker. A survivor of domestic violence, Martha loves being able to use her voice for others, by advocating for those who cannot advocate for themselves and connecting Wyandotte community members with the resources they need. Martha hopes that through her translating services and compassion, she can continue advocating for the Wyandotte community on a personal level. Martha understands the added barriers some community members are facing as immigrants and other debilitating forces, and hopes to help bridge these inequities by uplifting residents and helping them to realize their right to advocate for themselves, as well as all the resources available to them.
