Leylah Ndinda has a warm heart and a willingness to help people as best as she can. She was born and raised in Kenya.  She learned to be empathetic and generous from watching her family growing up. Leylah is a journalist by profession, and being a field reporter in East Africa gave her a voice to help empower people to become more self-sufficient. After relocating to the US, she became a Swahili interpreter for case workers at catholic charities, helping East and Central African refugees get the help and assistance they needed. In 2018, she found a training class to become a Community Health Worker (CHW). She fell in love with helping people even more after this class and began working for the Wyandotte County health department in May of 2020. In 2021, she transitioned to CHC as a CHW. At CHC, she assists Wyandotte County residents and interprets for African refugees, helping them get the resources and help they are looking for!
