Alexis Hernandez

She/her

Alexis Hernandez grew up in South Kansas City, MO. After graduating high school from JC Harmon in 2013, Alexis went straight to work, and began a career which first started in retail, before transitioning to a project coordinating position for a local construction company. It was during this time, that Alexis realized something was missing from her life and career, and started exploring other options, which eventually led her to CHC. While Alexis didn't initially have non-profit experience in the professional sense, she quickly found her place with CHC, as the organization's values and mission closely aligns with Alexis's own moral ambitions and community goals. With volunteering experience already in her back pocket, Alexis entered CHC with a strong sense of giving back, and quickly learned how to translate these special skills, her knowledge, and compassion, to her work as an executive administrator and program coordinator for CHC. Alexis works closely with Maternal CHWs, and is currently coordinating breastfeeding groups for black and latinx parents in the Kansas City region, as well as working closely with local schools to connect students with CHC resources. As a local Kansas City native, Alexis understands the disparities experienced by the Wyandotte community and strives to stand up for those residents while also allotting them valuable resources to help bridge these inequities.
