Gail Harris | Program Coordinator
Yolanda Harris is a dedicated Community Health Worker with deep roots in Wyandotte County. She grew up in the community she now serves and attended high school in Kansas City, Missouri. As one of 20 children—number 19 in birth order—Yolanda developed a strong sense of responsibility, collaboration, and compassion at an early age, qualities that continue to guide her work today.
Yolanda is married and a proud mother of four children, experiences that have strengthened her commitment to advocating for family wellness, access to care, and community-centered support. She is member of her church in the northeast area of Wyandotte County, where she remains engaged in service and outreach.
In addition to her work as a Community Health Worker, Yolanda serves as a board member for a Community Development Corporation and works with We Are Wyandotte as the Program Coordinator for Volunteers, in addition to being a member of the vibrant community health council, and being a member of local health action team (COPE) communities organizing to promote equity . Through these roles, she supports community-led initiatives, strengthens volunteer engagement, and promotes sustainable development across Wyandotte County.
Driven by lived experience and a deep connection to her community, Yolanda is passionate about empowering residents, improving health outcomes, and building trust between community members and local organizations.
