Donna Young is the Executive Director of the Community Health Council. She was previously the Project Manager here at CHC. Working in collaboration with multiple research institutions, community stakeholders, and health industry partners, she provided oversight for the Health Opportunity Mapping for Equity (HOME) program in Wyandotte County, KS; which culminated in the H.E.A.T. (Health Equity Action Transformation) Report and We Are Wyandotte initiative. Donna conducts community outreach events to engage residents in important health initiatives, including leading our Community Action Boards, and working alongside other community, municipal, and state government partners on programs such as the Fetal Infant Mortality Review board, and the Neighborhood Walk Audits. Donna has also overseen the development of all of our web properties, communications, and outreach. Donna excels at building relationships with community organizations to raise awareness and generate interest in addressing health disparities and introducing place-based initiatives. She provides a bridge for research to influence equitable health policy and practice. Before coming to Community Health Council Donna had also previously acted as Community Organizer at Communities Creating Opportunity, and as Operations Manager at T-Mobile. Donna is originally from Wyandotte County and grew up in Kansas City, Kansas where she now facilitates work impacting her community. Lastly, and most importantly, Donna is wife to Braden and mother to Will, Ethan, Kaitlyn, and Noah.
